Gracie Jiu Jitsu is a martial art concentrating on ground fighting, based upon the techniques and philosophies developed by the Gracie family of Brazil.

As seen in practice in the Ultimate Fighting Championships and Mixed Martial Arts competition, Jiu Jitsu based ground fighting enables its practitioners to negate the advantages of striking and size within violent altercations. The methodologies and techniques contained within the art enable its students to end an altercation to his/her advantage with a number of options.

Recently opened to service the Collingwood/Fitzroy area, the classes at the academy are instructed by Adam Same, a highly experienced teacher and competitor. The club is conveniently situated at 8 Robert St, Collingwood, at the Pure Aikido Dojo.
